« Mysterious clicks on the line | Main | Evil plots » January 17, 2006Missing protestor updateThe Missing Protester page has been updated as follows: For a while there we thought we had a possible match; Detective Sergeant John Pickersgill. Further investigation revealed that Det Sgt Pickersgill was currently attached to S012, the Special Branch Section at New Scotland Yard responsible for holding intelligence on extremist bodies. In other words, he was one of very few police with a (theoretically) valid reason to be out and about acting like an agitator. So I called him. I first made sure that I had the same John Pickersgill that appears in the photo linked above and displayed below. I then explained the situation and asked if was our missing man.
His response: "I can absolutely and categorically state that it wasn't me." So the search continues. Funny fucking resemblance for a person who wasn't there. Posted by: snooo at January 17, 2006 10:46 AM Given his role, would you expect him to admit to either being the "missing person" or indeed even being there? Posted by: balders at January 17, 2006 1:29 PM The noses are not right though. Unless hes had it flattened and widened..or someone has given him a smack ;-) Posted by: johnwards at January 17, 2006 2:05 PM First reactiion was that they were the same person. Just asked a friend to make a judgement on the photos without telling them anything about the situation and their response was the same as johnwards - they look very similar but they've got different noses. Bah. As someone who's had their nose broken twice, however, I can confirm that such a broadening is consistent with a hearty smack in the nose. Given his job, such a smacking surely can't be ruled out. Posted by: Garry at January 17, 2006 2:32 PM Have you noticed the large earlobes on both, though? Try mirroring one of the pictures in a graphics package and you'll see what I mean. Posted by: Chicken Yoghurt at January 17, 2006 4:14 PM A current photo from Tims new pal would stop all this speculation ;-) Posted by: johnwards at January 17, 2006 4:36 PM Very different noses. And the copper looks a fair bit older than the other chap, in my opinion. Posted by: Jez at January 17, 2006 5:34 PM 2 Thoughts:- 1: Go to a police station and get them to file an suspected kidnapping report against PC's KF90 & 109. 2: Maybe the fucker has ended in Guantanamo.
