"People wearing satirical T-shirts in a 'designated area' may be arrested under the Prevention of Terrorism Act. The City of London is a permanently 'designated area'." Wrong again, Mr Carr. There is no such provision in any Prevention of Terrorism Act.Under the Section 13 of the Terrorism Act 2000, 'A person in a public place commits an offence if he (a) wears an item of clothing, or (b) wears, carries or displays an article, in such a way or in such circumstances as to arouse reasonable suspicion that he is a member or supporter of a proscribed organisation.'So, wear a T-shirt or even just a badge saying 'Islamic Jihad Union' or 'UVF' anywhere - designated area or otherwise - and you're looking at up to six months chokey.

Truly incredible. Blair and Clarke can find the time (or at least get a bunch of researchers and lackies to find the time) in an attempt to debunk three (count them: Carr, Porter and Russell) liberal journalists but couldn't find five minutes to tell the media "hang on, lads, this 45 Minutes from Doom thing is complete bollocks".Or have they turned over a new leaf in correcting the media and their first go at it just happened to be the civil liberties debate? I await their rebuttal of the dark propaganda against Iran with interest.
