Not a perfect example... but a fresh one

UPDATE - Well. Said.: Netiquette is, ultimately, about playing fair with your readers and those who comment on your work, and censorship, in blogging terms, includes not only outright suppression of opinions but also breaches of netiquette that restrict or take away from your readers things like the right of reply and also the misuse of your control over your blog, as its owner, to suppress or protect yourself from valid and legitimate criticism.

Tim, much as I'd like to side with you and not the complete tit that is Guido, this is bordering on the obsessive. Give it up, you are haemorrhaging dignity and starting to look a little foolish.

Note for the record: this is the first comment that countdrunkula has left on this website, and he 'established' his identity via a disposable e-mail address service.

Count Drunkula,

I expect you've never heard of Serge Lang. He demonstrated that an approach to activism that some people would consider obsessive can sometimes be a very effective way of wearing down the opposition.

Guido himself has observed that New Labour astro-turfers have invaded his site, attempting to decelerate certain stories by claiming that they are bored or ongoing coverage borders on the obsessive.

Guido has not only played this same game with me (he's a born politician, I swear) he has also failed to correct any comments on his site that claim that my activities are the work of these same astro-turfers (as they leave a useful impression for newcomers).

A man of many angles, is Guido.
