Baptists for Brownback – A White Feather For The Cowardly British
If you doubt this is satire (it can be so hard to tell these days), check out the fine-print or the U.S.E. campaign from the same site.
The abortion ticker is real, though… and what a happy little item it is:

haaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahahahahahahaha that's the funniest thing I've read in years. If it is satire, it's brilliant. If it isn't, God (or whoever) help us!

That's the fantastic thing. A site like that should be an obvious attempt at humour, but these days it takes a second or third look to tell that they're not being serious. Especially in the USA.When satire is both incredible and close to the mark, you know things are going down the tubes.

"these days it takes a second or third look to tell that they're not being serious"All too true:http://www.bloggerheads.com/archives/2007/03/broa…http://www.bloggerheads.com/archives/2007/03/this…A bit unfair singling out the U.S. though… the words 'exponential' and 'market' should be used somewhere along the line, but don't they have more fruit-loops and fruit-loopery simply because they have more people?

Difficult to tell. I came across another blog supporting Brownback a few months ago where it was difficult to tell whether it was a brilliant satire or not, except this one was trying to argue that "Heliocentrism is an Atheist Doctrine": http://www.septicisle.info/2007/05/lowering-colle…

"don't they have more fruit-loops and fruit-loopery simply because they have more people?"Sure, however I think their wonderful blend of politics, religion, and religion-sponsored education gives a greater percentage of their fruit-loops an audience – and with potential to actually affect State legislature, they seem… louder.Small percentage groups can have a larger voice in a bigger country. 0.5% of the population means a lot more individuals screaming at a single person than in the UK. Specialist lobby groups hold greater sway. Have I wandered off track?
