« Andrew Quah: wah-wah-wahhhhh | Main | Monsters » October 30, 2007Nadine Dorries to turn into pumpkin shockSome chap called Peter has announced on the Nadine Dorries weblog (semi-functional permalink here) that; "Nadine will be blogging at one minute past midnight, there is a reason why!" If you don't know why this might (stress might) be of interest, then you may as well move along now. UPDATE (12:10) - Tut. It's about politics. I was expecting something interesting, like her warranty running out or something. I wanted to see a woman living on the *edge*... UPDATE - Here's what has Nadine's frilly white knickers in a twist. If you like, you can enjoy some background from Rhetorically Speaking or Ministry of Truth. Or, you can meekly accept Iain Dale's softballing of her views to the public, where the only challenges to this associate of his are the words 'controversial' and a recently-revised policy on deployment of quotation marks when using the words 'abortion industry'. Posted by Manic on October 30, 2007 8:12 PM in the category The Political Weblog Movement Pings (Trackback)For trackbacks, this is the URL: Comments Did you see the Ben Goldacre post which several people have linked to in Iain's comments? "This is the real deal. I totally downloaded the PDF. But I turned on the taps and put the radio on full blast first, just in case they'd bugged my flat." Heh! He's another one of those conspiracists who gets his information from, yes, publicly available material. Is there no end to these dirty tricks... I noticed that at least one person has attempted to highlight Goldacre's response in the comments at Nad's blog. It'll be interesting to see whether that makes it through moderation. So far, there are ten comments. All of them can be summerised as saying "Yay for Nad!". She wouldn't stifle a debate on a post complaining about a debate being stifled, would she? Posted by: Garry at October 31, 2007 2:24 PM Hahahahahaha! Nice post from Unity's archives, too: Posted by: Manic at October 31, 2007 3:23 PM Oh, and looking at the comments over at BC's site, there now appears to be a determined effort to see if any critical comments will be published (or - *gasp* - addressed) over at Nadine's: And I am loving - LOVING - your* take on it, my good man: (*We both know that I wrote it, but let's keep that little secret in the public domain.)
