The Magic Mirror

"Romper, bomper, stomper, boo.
Tell me, tell me, tell me do.
Magic mirror, tell me today.
Did all my friends have fun at play?"

Well, I can see Justin, and I can see Paul...

I used to love Romper Room when I was a kid, and was genuinely shocked to learn in adult life that it was an international franchise - the Northern Irish version was so utterly local. I believe it got axed by UTV because of the terrifying resonances the title took on in the mid-seventies.

Heh. You should have seen the Australian version. It was a treat:

"Daniel has had enough" goes right back to what you were saying.

I loved the songs, too. Try rapping this sometime:

Mr Mr Doobee, How do you do?
We're going to play a game with you.
We're going to run, and let you fly,
And catch you as you're sailing by.

Or try singing this while you're delivering a fatal kicking:

Punch, punch, punch the ball, punching's so much fun,
Use your wrist, your hand, your fist & keep it on the run.
Punch, punch, punch the ball, no matter what you do,
The rolly, polly punch-a-ball keeps coming back to you!
