I'm sure that Iain stop short of claiming to be the next messiah. Meanwhile, wasn't Jesus Christ an inspiring figure? I fondly recall all of those Sunday School stories about him turning the other cheek while his disciples laid into the Romans with personal insults about their sexuality, state of mind and body mass index. Best bits of the Bible, they are. Posted by: Manic at October 28, 2008 10:25 AM - Of course you are aware that Jesus originally claimed to have fed 25,000 with the loaves and fishes, but further checking revealed many who'd come back for seconds (and thirds), thus the 5000 absolute unique diners. And don't get me started on the attendance at the Sermon on the Mount. Over 1,000,000 claimed attendees, before investigation showed many were being counted as a new listener every time they returned from a crafty piss behind the burning bush.
