FACT: Piers Morgan was a bloody idiot for not recognising these images as staged and/or presenting them as such. But what's been lost amongst the noise of Morgan being sacked and the Queen's Lancashire Regiment's claims of 'vindication' is the news that soldiers from that regiment still face charges relating to the death of Baha Mousa, who was severely beaten while in British military custody.

These pictures were staged - or 'faked', if you prefer - but that does not mean that the story behind them isn't true. This simple fact has passed the majority of the population by because - and it bears repeating - Piers Morgan was a bloody idiot.
