It was only a matter of time...

External item #1:
This week will see some features and presentational changes to the blog, including an "about" section. - Paul de Laire Staines
Manic thinks it about fucking time.

External item #2:
See that the lefty thought police were out in force this weekend. When will they realise that you can't be vindictive and humorous at the same time? Had a look at the guido 2.0 site and thought this little gem sums up why the site is such a bore. "Guido Fawkes 2.0 is a non-governmental organisation devoted to raising blogging standards and reducing moral poverty in the developing blogosphere." In other words, Labour is crap at this blogging lark and want to spoil the party for everyone else! - a comment by 'chatterbox' on Staines' website
Manic has been waiting patiently for this:

Paul de Laire Staines (aka 'Guido Fawkes') used to run a 'long and boring' website at global-growth.org (which also enjoyed some time at global-growth.blogspot.com).

Take a look at the description of the website and Global Growth's mission:

Ha-ha!PS - Dizzy also fell for this gag, but was lucky enough to have done so privately via email.

Manic has spoken. End communication.

Erm but that's not funny!

The Global Growth description is completely fine in it's context. It's the fact that you have applied it to blogging that makes it sound ridiculous.

Sorry but you must be struggling for material to flag that up...

tyger - you have amused me greatly with your silly shouts of "astro-turfers". Bet you do that every time someone says something you don't agree with don't you?

I couldn't be further away from the Westminster village...well Sheffield to be precise actually ;-)

Oh and Tim this whole vendetta against Guido and know Iain Dale doesn't reflect well on you. I speak as someone who was not aware of you before this blow up and, well, you don't come out of it looking very reasonable or frankly sane with the obsessive nature of it. Just my $0.02 worth...

Your parents were very fortunate. It appears you're very easily amused.

Now you're telling me where you live and winking at me. Er, how can I put this...

Well said Northern Monkey. I too had never heard about you until you started your self righteous crusade...why don't you focus on elected sleaze balls? This makes you look humourless and obsessive, not interesting, enlightening or encouraging for any prospective readers you may hope to acquire. Guido is not there to be polite and nice. He deletes everyone now and again, myself at least 3 times, but I do concede that my posts were neither interesting nor funny. Some self awareness is called for Tim.
