Weblog Marketing:
Choosing a Solution/Consultant

Choosing the right Weblog Marketing consultant or solution

A weblog is, funnily enough, a log of the web - an individual's daily public diary of images, sites, thoughts, news etc. that they have encountered via general surfing, other weblogs, or direct recommendation. A weblog can have a daily audience counting in the tens or tens of thousands. Beyond 'user get user', this is 'user get audience' - and, as weblogs borrow links off each other as a matter of course, a viral agent spreads much faster in this arena.

There are also significant advantages with regards to Search Engine Optimisation. A well-armed site with an aspect that interests or intrigues this interlinked community of online publishers will start to see an almost immediate improvement to search engine results in Google and the spectrum of search portals powered by its central database.

But it does not pay to go charging into weblogs without learning more about the blogging format and the people who use it. Attempt to promote your site via weblogs without this level of understanding, and things can go horribly, horribly wrong.

"You may even be one of those rare brands that can benefit from communicating directly with the weblog community on their terms. Is there a compelling/interesting/amusing/human aspect to your business? Can this be directed into a daily publishing format that allows you to better communicate with your customers - and at the same time significantly improve your positioning in search engines? Find out by reading this article. But be prepared for some radical thinking and some dangdoodle cusswords." - Tim Ireland

"Tim 'Bloggerheads' Ireland addresses the question of commercial intervention in the blogworld. I seriously doubt that the greedhead suits eyeing up the blogosphere as a marketing opportunity will have the slightest comprehension of what he's saying. We can but hope...." - Pilgrim

Hiring Tim Ireland as a Weblog Marketing consultant

Tim has been actively researching weblogs and interacting with them via his own blog since late 2001 and was invited to take part in the world's first conference on potential business applications in 2003. Already frustrated by a lack of awareness (or willingness to connect) in the business world, Tim had by this stage produced the first weblog by a Labour MP (Tom Watson), which also happened to be the first genuine weblog by an elected official anywhere in the world. In 2004, he produced the first weblog by a Conservative MP (Boris Johnson).

Businesses are only now becoming aware of the potential of weblogs, but many of the lessons they have learned (and techniques they have copied) are from sites that aren't a genuine attempt to integrate with the weblog community (and community is the key). Tim Ireland offers your company consultation that is backed by considerable expertise, years of experience, and a number of unparalleled achievements. He also combines this with a unique understanding of Viral Marketing and its role in Search Engine Optimisation.
