Isn't it nice to know that you can shoot the wrong people, raid the wrong houses, lie outright to save face and still remain in your job, so long as you have the support of Boris Johnson?

He can whine all he likes about Boris but it was this final nail in the Daily Mail this morning, detailing yet another contract he gave to his mate, that did for him.

The Mail would love to think it was their tireless campaigning that got rid of him, but I doubt that was the nail.
I mean, the guy hadn't done anything right for the last three years. Surely that's enough.
