The possible need to state the bleeding obvious

OK, quick show of hands. Who here doesn't understand what 'Jim Doyle' is up to?

UPDATE - I just left this comment on the site. It was deleted within minutes: "Jim, we've explained this in public, and we've explained it in private. Let me make this absolutely clear: we do not think it is a good idea. In fact we would consider what you propose to be incredibly counter-productive. It's a mystery to us why you insist on continuing."

Jim is now busy making comments at sites that have linked to Backing Blair, urging them to join his 'backing' Backing Blair campaign. All we need now is a backwards backtracking half-baked back-bacon Backing Blair campaign and the circle will be complete.

haha, everyone's gone fucking mad.

You're not far off. This is just the picture 'Jim Doyle' is trying to paint. It's a classic trolling technique.

I think this just goes to show how much your concept is shaking (some) people up and for that you should be proud. However, trolls like this and their tactics are indeed unwelcome, however, I believe it means you are doing something very, very right.

hahahaha, I see he didn't notice the 'save this to your space' section! nice one.

Posted by: bigdaddymerk at February 17, 2005 4:39 PM

Yup, see how long it takes. This reminds me of commuting by train. For some reason, no matter how hard you stare out of the window, or into the newspaper, the one person lumbering down the carriage who you don't want to sit next to you always does.

Heh. It won't last, so here's a screengrab for those who miss/missed what we did when we noticed he was calling up his BB banner directly from our servers:

Hahahahahaha! And now he's disabled comments.

Posted by: Manic at February 17, 2005 4:46 PM

I do hope he's not just a misguided supporter of BB.

Posted by: bigdaddymerk at February 17, 2005 4:50 PM

I doubt that very, very much. I think it's far more likely he's trying to disrupt the campaign and 'show' that BB supporters are nutters. But I shouldn't really mention that because it reveals me to be a conspiracy theorist.

He's still leeching bandwidth like a leechy thing - he's moved on to this now

I was wondering what the hell that was all about. He's whacked a trackback over at my place to an entirley unrelated post, and I lack the technological dowhatsit to get rid of it...

Posted by: Nosemonkey at February 18, 2005 10:49 AM

It's not just you, Nosemonkey. He's comment-spamming and trackback-spamming his fauxpaign all over the place. Which should make him popular.

Posted by: Manic at February 21, 2005 2:30 PM

More than 2 dozen comment spams at BB over the weekend, in contravention of BT Internet's AUP and T's & C's (http://www.btinternet.com/new/content/terms/).
